“Legacies of the slave trade are unavoidable. Cape Coast Castle, one of many historic coastal forts, was where slaves were held before being dispatched to America and the Caribbean.” FACT NOTE: White people were trading Slaves from Ashanti and Fante tribes! They were not hunting, but trading for weapons and all kind of "advanced" goods! Slaves came mainly from areas, such as Northern Ivory Coast, Upper East region, Upper West, Northern Togo and Burkina Faso. Very rare cases of Fante, Ga or Ashante people! Whoever want to trace "their ancestors"; search and visit those Northern places! Not all West African tribes were "Victims", but dealers! CNN Travel has released a list of 19 places to visit in the year 2019.
Fourth on the list is Ghana, a country with some of the world’s most diverse and amazing tourist sites. Cape Coast Castle is a fortification that was first built of timber in 1653 along the Gulf of Guinea in Ghana, West Africa. The Castle was built for the trade in timber and gold, but later it was used in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. The British used the castle as colonial government sit, as Cape Coast became for some years the colonial capital of British Gold Coast.
