Ghana produced Rice (Support the farmers of Ghana)
Giving Ghanaian Farmers jobs, and eating healthy!
Eat Rice, but produced in Ghana. Trade liberalization forced by IMF and World Bank, is believed to have had a negative impact on the rice subsectordespite the government’s efforts to increase the output of major food crops such as rice.
For example, imported white rice dominates rice consumption in Ghana.
Whereas Ghana’s rice output stood at only 142,000 tonnes in 2005, Vietnam produced as much as 32 million tonnes of rice in the same year.
Rice is an important food crop in Ghana and its consumption is growing, particularly among urban dwellers, but supporting local farmers means to not buy foreign rice, even if the imported rice is cheaper!
