How the regions work

Ghana has sixteen regions, and we group the stations by the town each one broadcasts from — Kumasi and Obuasi into Ashanti, Cape Coast and Winneba into Central, Ho and Keta into Volta, and so on.

Not every station tells the world where it sits. Online-only stations, diaspora stations and national broadcasters often carry no town at all, and those appear under Region not identified rather than being guessed at. If you know where one of them belongs, tell us and we will place it.

Every station shown is filtered first: the stream must be secure, must have passed its most recent availability check, and must play in an ordinary browser without extra software. Fewer stations that work beats more that do not.

Looking for more? Our dedicated radio site carries a larger hand-built directory, with station pages, frequencies and background: radio.ghana-net.com.

Run a station and not listed? This page draws from Radio Browser, a free open community database. Adding your stream there puts you on this page and on every other service using that data — it costs nothing and takes minutes.

A stream will not play? Streams go offline for maintenance, licensing and power reasons. Try another from the same region, or come back later.

While you listen

You are on West Africa's longest-running independent heritage and travel network — publishing since December 2000, written first-hand, without the tourist-brochure varnish.

Live data. Station names, stream URLs, bitrates and locations are drawn in real time from the Radio Browser open database (radio-browser.info), a free community-maintained catalogue of internet radio. Regional grouping is our own, matched from town and city names in the station data, and is best-effort rather than official. We host no audio and hold no rights in any broadcast — all streams belong to the broadcasters and are provided by them. Listening uses your own data connection.
