Ghana currently has 16 administrative regions, created in December 2018 and formally inaugurated in 2019. The regions and their capitals are:

• Ahafo – Goaso

• Ashanti – Kumasi

• Bono – Sunyani

• Bono East – Techiman

• Central – Cape Coast

• Eastern – Koforidua

• Greater Accra – Accra

• Northern – Tamale

• North East – Nalerigu

• Savannah – Damongo

• Oti – Dambai

• Upper East – Bolgatanga

• Upper West – Wa

• Volta – Ho

• Western – Sekondi (Takoradi metro)

• Western North – Sefwi Wiawso
