1. Kakum National Park

Located in the Central Region, Kakum is famous for its canopy walkway, suspended 30 meters above the forest floor. The park protects tropical rainforest and is home to monkeys, forest elephants, antelopes, and over 250 bird species.

2. Mole National Park

Ghana’s largest and most popular park, located in the Savannah Region. Visitors can see elephants, antelope, warthogs, baboons, and occasionally lions, especially during guided walking safaris or jeep tours. It also offers views of the Mole River and old colonial buildings.

3. Bui National Park

Nestled along the Black Volta River, this park is known for hippos, antelopes, and its scenic landscape of savannah and woodlands. It's also a good spot for boating and birdwatching.

4. Digya National Park

Located around Lake Volta, Digya is Ghana’s oldest protected area. Though less developed for tourism, it’s rich in biodiversity and offers remote, off-the-beaten-path adventure.

5. Shai Hills Resource Reserve

Just outside Accra, Shai Hills is perfect for a day trip. It features rocky hills, savannah plains, baboons, and ancient caves once used by the Shai people. Popular for hiking, wildlife spotting, and learning local history.

6. Ankasa Conservation Area

A dense rainforest ecosystem near the Ivory Coast border, Ankasa is Ghana’s most biologically diverse protected area, though rugged and suited for experienced nature travelers.
